One of the coolest albums from this jazzy accordion maestro – an early MPS session that shows just how groovy Art Van Damme can be when he finds the right setting! Art was always a bit more staid on his US recordings – but on this overseas session he finds just the right elements to open up his instrument into a world of tone and color! The group's a quintet, with some excellent vibes from Heribert Thusek – and the combination of vibes and accordion is wonderful, especially when augmented by the guitar work of Freddy Rundquist, a player who matches their colors in a great way. The set also features gently stepping rhythms from Peter Witte on bass and Charly Antolini on drums – and titles include "Ecstasy", "Love Walked In", "Blue Light & Shadow", "Nancy", "Easy Swing", and "Autumn In New York".
