    There's few folks in the world who could stand with a clarinet in their hand and earn the title of Fearless – but the great Rolf Kuhn, heard here on the final recording of his life, stands strong and proud with music that really lives up to his tremendous legacy in jazz! In ways, Kuhn is the European equivalent of Jimmy Giuffre – not in sound or style, but in the way he took a very mainstream instrument and really pushed its boundaries – work first done in the 50s and more experimental 60s, and continued strongly over many decades of recording! Rolf works here in a bold quartet – Frank Chastenier on piano, Lisa Wulff on bass, and Tupac Mantilla on drums and percussion – and the album is full of surprises throughout, served up on tunes that include "As Cape", "Alpha 47", "Free Exit", "Simply Red Plus", "Fearless", and "The Summer Knows".
